Fuel Pump

Hi all, just an FYI and an update to my fuel pump issues. After lots of testing and trouble shooting i found the problem. A nipple on the pump it self was broke, looks like during shipping! For anyone that has experience with fuel pump on 2005 BMW 530i and models that require this pump you will you what the canister that the pump sits in looks like. The nipple is somewhat hard to see inside the canister. So i ordered a new one from Pleasanton BMW and paid $389. Well i took the broken one with me and much to my surprise it was under a parts warranty and the manger swapped it out for me. to Luis, refunded my $389 and made me a buyer of parts from one place of business. In fact, all the years that i wrenched (17 yrs steady) but never on a BMW, i always was under the impression that when you changed fuel pumps you changed fuel filter..........so i bought a fuel filter from Luis and will continue to buy my BMW parts from them! Kudos Luis

As you found out, fuel pump sits on the passenger side and the fuel filter sits on the drivers side. Pump assembly comes with a long box to hold the hose assembly shape intact. When I bought it, the box was in perfect condition. I've replaced both pump and the filter. I don't need to worry about fuel related issue for a long time.
