Adding OEM PDC to my BMW 520i E60 aug/2003

Last week a became a proud owner of a BMW 520i E60 (aug/2003). The only thing missing is PDC. It has no PDC cables or whatever.

What I want to do is retrofit the original (OEM) PDC to into my car.

According to bmwetk I'll be needing these main parts:
1. 8 ultrasonic-sensors
2. Control unit PDC (66 20 9145158)
3. Set of cables, front bumper
4. Set of cables, rear bumper

Now, I just bought the PDC control unit (66 20 9145158). The rest is soon to follow. I won't be adding the PDC system to the car myself.

What else do I need or am I missing according to you guys?
What do you guys think about this plan of mine to add OEM PDC to my 520i?

Thanks!

Sounds like a good project.

You will need the socket/bushing (whatever its called) the sensors mount into and someone to code the changes.

Will I be needing two PDC modules? One for the front sensors and one for the rear sensors?

Yes, the set of cables to connect the sensors to the PDC module.

But what I still don't understand is, where does the PDC module itself connect to?

you will need to retrofit a harness that connects the PDC module to power of course as well as the canbus system - probably pt_can but I have not looked.

Only one module is needed.

Thanks.

I'll also be needing some PDC mounts/brackets for my PDC sensors.

Does anyone have any idea where to find these online??

It's all done and it works like a charm.

Step 1: Install all the parts
Step 2: Update the vehicle order to include PDC ($508)
Step 3: Code the M-ASK (in my case) to show PDC

In total it cost me EUR 490 for the parts and EUR 250 to have it all built in.

For a full overview of all the parts, condition, part numbers and where I bought them see the following website https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...4Zkw3MXc#gid=0 (Google Spreadsheet)

If you have any questions feel free to ask them.

Why wouldn't you have just added a video camera system for EUR 350, or less?
