Hi Driverdash,

Yes, for some inexplicable reason, the flat pin audio units are much more highly priced for 2nd hand units. I don't think there's a cable to allow a flat pin to work in a round pin style connector and vice versa.

My vote is to put in a good quality double DIN head unit which will also have current technologies like iPod control, Bluetooth and a hands free mobile car kit etc. Here's mine for instance -

Upgrade the cabin speakers to gain an immediate much improved audio performance level as well and later (if needs be), once funds allow, you can add small amplifiers and a subwoofer to improve quality and performance again!

Cheers, Dennis!

Hi

Nip over to BMW5.co.uk and I have a post up about a double DIN fitting kit which doesn't require the airbox to be modified - http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/41137-...-not-required/

Please read it all as the one above is discontinued, but the Autoleads one is available (when in stock) - theres a link to some pictures in that thread as well.

Cheers, Dennis!
