Shadowline Trim as a stand-alone option?

Greetings.

Long time owner of 2006 650i considering possible upgrade to 2013 650i. I have been lurking on this board for months trying to get up to speed. I'm trying to decide how to spec the car (which will be my Wife's DD).

She wants vermillion red exterior. I must have the shadowline trim rather than the chrome look. Can shadowline be ordered as a stand-alone option? I know it is part of a couple of the option packages, but I want to know if it can be ordered without M-sport and / or Individual (frankly it's the executive package that I want to add instead).

If stand-alone is available (I don't see it in the order guides or BYO) how much is it?

My contribution to that thread is towards the bottom, option code is there. I would think it could be added without issue, sales person could confirm.

I was able to do this as a special order with M-Sport when shadowline was not available for it on 2012 models.

Member XZLR8 has also done this on his non M-Sport model.

Don't let your CA tell you it can't be done because it most certainly can. Thanks to XZLR8 for doing the dirty work and initiating this.

Well, bmwconfig used to give you the answer, but not anymore. You want option 760, shadowline trim.

All BMW's are made to order. If your CA is claiming you can't do it, it's likely because the dealer doesn't want to take the risk of ordering the car for you and then having you back out of the deal. Evidently, consumer protection laws stand in the way of getting what you want as legally you have the right to back out of the deal after the car is built but before it is delivered. Not that selling a car with shadowline trim should be much risk...

I got it as a stand alone option on my 2012 640 coupe...ED.....so it is possible.....

Seems promising to be able to add shadowline with a competent and customer oriented sales associate. Thanks much for the confirmation. $350 is way cheap, too!

This gets me closer to pulling the trigger on the upgrade to a 2013 / 2014. The 2006 now has 86K on the clock and I need to get out before it bites me.....I spent ~$4K on new tires and brakes about 1 year ago so trying to balance getting my money's worth on those expenditures with managing an aging car and it's inevitable problems.....

Hopefully I can be a contributor to this board in a few months.

Yeah, Shadowline is such a must, in my opinion.

I had an '06 650i, as well. Great car, but I think you'll like the new version ever better when that time comes.
