My new 650i Convertible
Hi Guys,
Just picked this beast up!! No plans yet except a new Gear knob and AUX retrofit. Sound from the 4.8 is glorious. Pictures don't do justice the colour is amazing in the flesh and changes under different light. Getting the valve stem seals done at the moment. My new 650i Convertible
Ok, bit of an update. Got he Valve Stem seals done so she is running great again.
Also got the gear shifter, out with the old:  In with the new:  Installed the Aux input and cradle, was in a bit of a rush so couldn't do the DIY. There are tons of guides out there any it only took about 30 minutes and about 15 minutes of coding. Very happy with the result.     Sent from BimmerApp mobile app

Hi,
as you're in Ireland just wondered where you got the work on the valves done and how much did it cost (if you don't mind my asking)? I have the same issue of smoke billowing out  Thanks

Sorry to hear that. Seems it’s only a matter of time for any of the old V8's. Apparently there is a design fault.
I had the work done Gary Doyle in Chelmsford Motors. Very well known among the community as one of the best Indy's out there. Chelmsford Motors 6 Chelmsford Lane Ranelagh, Dublin 6 (01) 4960116 Regarding the price, I don't actually know. I was lucky, I had bought the car on 'trade' terms from Deerpark motors. However, given the issue manifested itself straight away he agreed to sort it out with a small contribution from myself towards the cost.
