heavy steering and wont self center
ive had my bmw 316i for a few months now, when i got it the steering was perfect very light and no problem with self centering.
now for some reason the steering is heavy and the car wont self center. anyone any ideas before i take it to the garage? |

Power steering pump is gone? Probably needs to be replaced.

And of course, check your the fluid level in your power steering reservoir for the correct amount and condition.

Could also be your lower steering column bearing. They tend to dry out and bind. When that happens it can feel like you've lost your power steering.
