Interior Bike Storage/Mount

I plan to try to make an interior bike rack of sorts. I will have to have the fork bike mount on an angle as my seat is too high to fit upright (and I don't want to remove the saddle). Has anyone already done this and has tips to share?

I made one using a piece of 80/20 to act as a cross-member for mounting to the stock t-rails. In the center of the bar I mounted a bike rack fork mount. Works well, both my mt bike and road bike can clip in, standing upright, and the hatch closes fine with clearance to the handle bars.

Hey Scott, I'm assuming you pull the rear wheel as well? Otherwise there's no way to stand the bike upright? Do you have a pic?

I'm giving up. Ordered an Execuhitch (Invisihitch) and a Swagman Quad 2+2.

Swagman Quad 2+2 - looks like a really nice bike rack.
Can you post some pics when you have it all pieced together?

Sure. Waiting for the hitch. Already put together the rack and it is pretty nice.

I remove the front whee and seat, the rear wheel stays on. No pics, I'm currently on travel... Can take pics later this week.

Yea, I don't want to pull the seat every time, too much of a pita.

The old interior bike rack from the first generation X3 works great.

It is very secure without using the left tiedowns, but if you want it to look pretty then just drill two holes in the crossmember to accommodate the narrower rails. I'm lazy so I just don't use the left tiedowns.
