door interior

Hi there, my first post because I'm a breath away of buying a 1993 BMW 320i with 68,000 km for $5,500. Anyway, maybe someone can answer a question for me, on the inside of the doors there is a loose cloth material attached to the door, Hard to explain but it's like it was an after thought by the owner to protect the door from dirt or whatever. The present owner says it came like that, but I have never in my life seen such a eye sore in a car. If no one knows what I'm talking about, I will assume the owner is lying to me and it's something he put on himself. thanks
BTW I drive a 09 Charger and wanted a second car to keep the miles off the mopar.

what else could he be lying about? get a PPI

Lux would've had leather inserts though.
