All BMWs coding a 2012 F30 335I

I have a question that I'm hoping someone here might know.

Will a 2.46.3 psdzdata code a 2012 F30 335I? I know someone that coded a 2012 535 with this and didn't know if there is any difference?

It depends on the software version (I-step) currently on the car. 46.3 worked for my April 2012 build F30, but after I took it in and they updated the software, 46.3 no longer worked.

Current is 48.1.

As a general rule of thumb, the PSdZData veriosn used with E-Sys needs to be >= to the ISTA/P version last used to program the car. However, you will find in instances where it is < the ISTA/P version, that you can still code many modules but not all. This occurs because not every module on a single chassis gets new firmware with every new ISTA/P version, so the older PSdZData still works on a particular module's older firmware.
