BMW sold 10,776 new 3 series last month

Presumably most of them F30s, a real good showing. MB did ok too, 8,565 C class.

BMW November sales numbers - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=661947

The ATS sold 2000 units. Yay

I went to the Cadillac dealership for the first time ever. Saw the ATS and sat in it. Got into the XTS and CTS-V. I read that 3ers interior is beaten by the ATSs interior. I have no idea where people are getting this from, it's a matter of taste I guess.

It doesn't matter.

The ATS could have an interior straight out of an x-wing fighter with a pile of $20,000 in cash on the drivers seat and still no BMW owner would be caught dead in one.

What's nice now is that instead of endlessly discussing the "threats" to the 3 Series brand, we can now discuss how the F30 is going to crush the likes of Mercedes, Audi, and Lexus. Will be fun.

BJ

Most 3 series sold are sport line or base line, too bad BJ, as good as the news is, your L328i can't take the credit.

The ATS 2,100+ number is close to twice from the month before, which was twice from yet the month earlier. I will give it a few more months to see a trend.

I think it is too early, it was only its second full month sale, and its core model (2.0T) wasn't even delivered.

Maybe you should subtract the 40% reduction in CTS sales ! Cannibalization of the marque was not GM's objective !

As noted earlier, over 70% of the ATS buyers were first time Cadillac buyers. The CTS drop is mostly people waiting for the new CTS.

Yeah, if the number stays at under 3,000 in the next few months, then ATS is in trouble.

I still dont see the ATS beating out the 3er. Luxury car buyers want refinement, comfort, with just a dollop of balance and driving dynamics. The F30 delivers that.

I don't think anyone had thought ATS would beat 3er in sales.

According to GM, so far among ATS buyers, 20% are from CTS trade in, 50% are MB and BMW trade ins, probably fairly equally split.

So if ATS numbers do go up, it will post some threat to both MB and BMW, but not at sub 3k level.

Don't let what goes on in this forum fool you. Base line's are always the best-seller, the Luxury and Modern would go next, the Sport and M-Sport dead last. Not because they aren't good cars mind you; it's just that Mr. & Mrs. Yuppie don't want the harsh ride.

Regarding the ATS, bwahhahahahahahahaha. Only 2x last month when now they're in a better inventory position? At this rate, they'll sell a whopping 24,000 cars per year. The 3 Series sells ~450,000 cars per year.

Don't forget all those Buick's and Chevrolet's.

Cadillac has knocked itself off, created a cheaper alternative for CTS buyers and a very inexpensive uptick model for the Lacrosse and Impala buyers.

How could the ATS fail?

Go after BMW, market the car to a younger crowd, play up its tight dimensions and its sporty ride. No, not happening. Will be a huge success.

This one's got the touch.

I don't see much difference between the Cimarron and the ATS interiors.

Correction, nationwide 50% ATS buyers are "conquest buyers," among them primarily MB and BMW trade ins. In CA this percentage was over 70%.

Audi A4/A5 and Infiniti G both were close to 5k last month. Lexus IS was really bad, only 1,988. Maybe F30 is successfully eating into Lexus IS share.

F30 is eating into everyone. Majority of new car buyers in this segment will conisider the F30 at the top of their list, it can offer the luxury that Lexus buyers seek, the technology that audi buyers seek, the refinement that mercedes buyers seek, and the performance that enthusiasts seek. BMW has another winner on their hands.

Keep crying about it

Damn it.

I just ordered a Modern line 335i MT Wagon in Sparkling Bronze Metallic to put in a barn for my great-grandchildren. Does this mean I should cancel it?
