Pictures of my 2014 M-Sport xDrive28i

400 miles into my obsession and it's only getting stronger.

FYI - first tank I averaged 23.2 mpg with 70% highway. We will see how the break in affects this number. That was also with pretty timid driving (no rev's over 4k) and part of the tank was with Eco Pro mode activated.

And now onto the pictures. (BTW all were taken with an iPhone5 so they are not the best).

I'm not sure why I really love this picture but it's unedited and the saturation looks amazing in just the natural light. I can't wait for tint to add even more contrast.

And for those wondering about some of the accessories...

Here is the cargo liner (the $84 one) and well worth it.




The BMW seat back bag. This thing has a TON of pockets and areas to store items. An awesome buy that fits securely behind either front seat.
(You will also notice the all weather floor liners in the next two pictures...also well worth it)



And last but not least, the rear seat middle occupancy storage bag. Just another handy area to store items if the seat is not needed.

My X1 is at port awaiting a boat to the USA

I believe BMW switched to low-dust pads back in late 2010.

My '13 x5 dusted like crazy

Looking to get one. There are no m-sports in my area to test drive. Is the package worth getting? Is the car noticeably more stiff then a regular X1?

Yes it is stiffer but not harsh even over our bad upstate NY roads. Handles better than our '07 3 series coupe with sport suspension. Glad we made the choice......our dealer did not have any M sports to drive either. Plus you get the sport seats!

While it handles bad roads and bumps better and I am quite happy with the handling, my 2013 x28i M Sport does not handle better than any 3 series I've ever driven.

My buddy has an '07 E92 335i, I had an '09 E90 335i, my parents have a '12 328i...I also had an E46 (all with sport suspensions). The service loaner 3s I've driven with standard suspension I'd wager outhandle the X1.

I will say the X1's higher seat position vs the 3 series has done my bad back wonders and I don't regret trading the 335.

Is it easy to get to the compartment below with the mat in place?

Yes. The mat is really lightweight and due to its fairly flimsy design it moves out of the way when you need it to.


ps I averaged 25.1 mpg on tank #2.

Great. Thanks for the info! and the MPG data too. I'm picking up my x Line Mineral White tomorrow and am considering window tint. I'd love to see a pic or two after you get it done.
