6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

Fear of oil leaks...
Hey guys, after the nightmare I had with oil leaks on my former 745i, I'm always wondering if there is anything we can do to prevent that. It's such a shame these Bimmer engines are plagued with this problem.
Everything from valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, alternator housing gaskets, rear seal... There must be something we can do when the car is young. In guessing frequent oil changes could help. I usually do mine at 10,000km. Forget that 25,000km recommended crap. Any other ideas?

It's probably no comfort, but it sounds like you are describing my experience with two V8 engined Mercedes E sries.

I would say the 5000 mile range should help, this would keep the TAN ( Total Acid Number ) level down in the oil. Heat & oxidation of the oil is the contributing factor. The gaskets are a known failure issue that we have to deal with!
