Phone Question

After owning several 7 Series, I recently purchased a 645 CI Convertible. I don't believe this model has Bluetooth, but there is a cable with a phone jack that is not attched behind the rearview mirror. Any ideas what this is for?

I cannot help with the cable question, but I have a 645Ci built 06/2004 and my local dealer was able to "enable" the Bluetooth by applying Service Information Bulletin SI B84 13 04, for a total cost of $107.65. Happy, happy, happy :-)

That might be an aftermarket Aux in cable. I don;t know if that year had BT or not. you can research that by your VIN. Check in the iDrive and see if there is an Aux in selection.

My guess that it is a data cable for the mirror home link buttons, or the security system?

I bet it was the had wire for a radar detector. Escort uses phone cords for power. Run the cable along the window down to the fuse box.

I believe you are right about the radar detector. I can see the imprints on the windshield where it must have been mounted.
