Probably the variability of individual preference.

I, for example, do not like heated seats and find them uncomfortable. Even wimpy versions are too hot for me.

Took the car in today for Service to have a look. They did say the seats don't feel very hot. Compared with another F30 there and it was about the same. The Service Advisor said he would check if there was a bulletin out there as a few people had mentioned this to him. He said once the seats are broken in a bit, that might make them hotter. Also that with previous models, there were stories of "burns" so maybe BMW toned down the heated seats in the F30.

Sad, because I like it hot
