About an hour a month.

I'm not a computer geek so you might have to be patient with me. From what your telling me once I download firefox everything on AOL will transfer automatically, is that correct.TIA

I'm not sure how you connect to the Internet.

Do you use AOL to get online or do you use a cable provider for that service? My father-in-law was paying AOL for 10 years needlessly because he didn't want to lose his email address before I showed him how he could use AOL for free. Wondering what your situation is.

simple.

download a new browser(this is the application you use to access the internet). you can get either firefox as bj mentioned or chrome, which i am a big fan of.

for email, your aol email adress is the same, you will now just got to aol.com to access your email.

use google for internet searches.

Stop using AOL completely (unless you need it for instant messaging or something).

Firefox now becomes the way you surf the web exclusively, gives you more protection and none of the back-button bugs. All that AOL software is is "a web browser" anyway, it's just bloated and loaded with stuff you don't need.

And it's become a total tool for The Huff Post.
Beej is completely right about giving up AOL and going to FireFox. AOL does use a version of IE, the problem is you have to go thru AOL's bandwidth to get there! Once you switch to FF you can kiss goodbye all those screen freezes and slow Bimmerfest loads. All the 404's, too.
(Side note to BJ: I got a laugh out of your f-in-l paying for AOL all these years. My 91 year old father did the same! Until recently he said he just didn't feel right getting anything for free. Then I switched him from dial up to cable wi-fi and convinced him that he was still paying but in a round about way. It met with his fairness standard.)

First off, welcome to the F30 forum. Please know that just because you drive an old, out-of-style car that we're pretty reasonable around here and won't abuse you so long as you understand your lowly position and not try to fight it.

The AOL thing is quite funny, my father-in-law couldn't understand that he could keep his email for free and give up the software he was paying $30 a month for. He got so paranoid about losing his email that he fought me on this for a whole year. Finally gave him a Firefox shortcut to his email on his desktop and that was that, got him an iPhone and showed him that texting is the 'new' internet messaging. Tried explaining that having an AOL email address wasn't cool, couldn't win that battle.

Now that I think about it, the E90 is the AOL of the 3 Series world. You really need to let it go and get an F30. We have a button next to the shifter that changes the ride of the entire car. The 3 Series has something called Bluetooth now, it's like a cordless phone for your car! Don't fight me on this for a year. Just trust me.

Using one browser is so 2011 BJ. I use 5 different browsers at any given time.

Ok maybe that is just because I have to troubleshoot our website for compatibility but still
