Aux Input
I was going to post something on this late last night, but decided to hit the sheets instead. I'm long burnt out on burning cd's and have been wanting to do an aux install. I have a 06/98 540i/6 with the tape deck and DSP. I was planning on following this write up this morning.
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1763361 Then I pulled out the tape deck and saw this(See attached image), so the pins i was planning on tapping to isn't the same to the diagram on the diy posted above. I know about the Dice adaptors and upgrading to CD53 but is there any way i can just tap into this unit for an auxiliary input? I'm at home and had the day off wanted to do something to the car. Thanks |

It's obviously a bit late, but you can do aux in by disassembling the tape deck and soldering in a plug. You're gonna have to google this one, but I have seen it done and the PO did it to my car before I got it.

I think the DIY with tapping into the tape will still give you tape quality? I am in the same boat, I am using a tape adapter. I used to have the dice kit and I wasnt much happier with that set up.

I cant use my cassette player at all because whenever theres a tape in there the motor that spins the tape is loud. I think I'll just end up getting CD53. Seems like the best way to go here, unless there is a way to do this that I haven't found yet.
