ED Prices without travelling

I am in NJ and would like to purchase a 2013 535i xdrive but can't travel to Germany for delivery. Is there a way to have the car delivered to me without travelling? I did hear about Performance Center Delivery in SC which isn't out of the question for me but not preferred.

I guess I would like to pick at a local dealer but pay ED Invoice Price...have my cake and eat it too!

No. Unless the dealer for whatever reason, is willing to sell you the car for ED invoice - for some reason.

Thanks for the quick response. Can I negotiate up with a dealership using ED pricing? I am wondering if I should go straight for ED or try to work deal out locally.

Um, let's see... if anyone could get ED pricing without doing ED, don't you think lots of people would do that?

It's like me asking if I could go back today and buy a powerball ticket for yesterday's drawing now that I know the numbers. You know, so I can have my cake and eat it too.

Not trying to be an ass, but some questions should be such an obvious "no" that you shouldn't even have to ask.

you can try, but there is almost a 0% chance you will get ED pricing, MSRP or invoice, without actually doing euro delivery. i say almost, only because the dealer you deal with could in theory have a mental break down while working out your deal and sell you the car at a loss.

better start looking at negotiating a deal up from US invoice. unless you change your mind about going to europe.

Why not go do ED? Do it over a weekend if you don't have a lot of free time.

You should not even try. The reason that ED pricing is better is because removes certain kickback money the dealer gets from BMW. Namely having to do with CSI.

After all, what kind of dealer could survive selling cars at $500 over invoice...

So this back end money is where the discount of ED comes from. I also assume that a dealer is more likely to stick you in the trunk of a new BMW, than even let on the the "trunk money" is on the table. And yes, I know its not actually "trunk money" but went well with the message.

That's what I did. Flew out of LAX Friday morning, picked up the car at the Welt on Saturday afternoon, drove to Neuschwanstein Castle on Sunday, dropped off the car at the Munich airport on Monday afternoon and flew home. Great weekend and I saved a good amount of money even after spending $1200 for flights, hotel and food.

Now, that said, I missed the real ED experience of traveling through Europe in my new BMW. I plan on fixing that by doing another ED in December of 2013 or January of 2014 in the next generation M3.

There's a multitude of ways to get ED invoice pricing without doing ED. These apply to the 0.1% or so. But if you don't know about them, you probably can't get them. Things like Center Employee Leases etc.
