Key fob not working. Having to manually lock/unlock

So my key fob crapped out today. I looked on eBay and saw tons from $12-$54. The more expensive ones are cool looking and fold. They also look a bit more like the more modern ones.

But these are the other ones I've found interesting.

I'm not sure if this is worth mentioning but the back of my key says 433 MHz. I see there's two variations of the keys sold so I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks guys!

If you're in the USA and your remote key says it operates on the 433 MHz radio frequency...something is out of whack.

When you decode your VIN, does it say your radio code is 315 MHz or 433 MHz? BMW used 315 MHz for the remote keys in the USA, Canada, & Australia. Europe and most other markets got remote keys that operate on the 433 MHz radio frequency.

I feel for you if this is the key that previously worked in your car...because someone must have changed something...which means you may not be able to simply go to the dealership and give them your VIN and have them send you a key that is coded to your car. If someone had other keys made and changed the DME & EWS control module...again, there's no official record of that change with BMW and you'll need to seek someone out that has an AK90 aftermarket equipment to retrieve your EWS system's ISN and and keys coded into your EWS control module...then burn new chips for any additional keys you may need.

Again, I hope this is an error and everything is as it came off the assembly line. If not, you may have a Frankenstein EWS system. ;(

Crap! It says 433.92 MHz on the back of the current key. I just checked the. Back again since it's a bit faded. But I can w/o a doubt confirm it. So what do I do now? Can I even buy a key from eBay? Is it possible to change this battery? Am going to have to take a royal F bomb from the dealer or this ak90 dude? How much roughly do you think?
