You will get more bang for your buck with a ECU flash/chip. The air goes through the the turbo, which determines the boost pressure, i.e. the amount of air reaching the combustion chamber. There is enough air reaching the turbo in the current set-up as the turbo boost can be significantly increased without the need for a new air intake.

What is weird is that the 335i does not have a DCT option...
Nevermind. I see you are not in North America. A chip tune, exhaust and intake upgrade should get you good numbers. Last edited by hyperzulu; 12-07-2011 at 09:26 AM. |

I believe the intakes make more noise then power. My 335is without mods based on actual dyno runs makes about 50 more whp then a 335i, but as far as I can tell the both have the same intake system from the factory. The stock intake is also delivering 365whp with the JB4 on Map2 w/o downpipes
That being said this one seems to be very cost effective. [url]http://www.burgertuning.com/dcintake.html[/url

We saw a 335i Sedan with DCT, and the optional style 313 wheels, at a BMW dealer in Stuttgart.

Adding an intake is one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to increase performance from your N54 twin turbo engine. I'd recommend that you check out the aFe stage 2 intake. It replaces your restrictive factory air box which allows for an increased air flow meaning more horsepower. This modification is a great compliment to a aftermarket exhaust sysetms as well as aftermarket tunes.
Another feature of the intake is the 16 gauge powder coated steel heat shield. A heat shield makes sure that the intake doesn't use the hot air around your engine and only allows the intake to receive cooler air, which adds more power. Not only does power increase, but many have observed an increase in MPG. I'd recommend that you check out the AE Performance Exhaust system. The AE performance exhaust is designed to minimize drone, increase the natural aggressive tones of the turbos, and give you a clean exhaust sound throughout the entire RPM range. It's race proven, designed on the race track, by professional racers themselves. With its astounding 24 lb reduction over the stock system, and an unheard dyno proven increase of 18+ horsepower and 13+ lb torque! In all honesty, it gives the car a nice clean, deep, and throaty exhaust note. ![]()
