Hi guys,
I had a mechanic check out my 2003 3.0 Z4 and got told it needed the following; Left and right front upper shock absorber mounting (mounting bushes cracked, mount cracked) I'm having trouble identifying EXACTLY what parts are required as his description is a bit vague. I've looked at http://www.carpartsdiagram.com/2007-...-parts-diagram to try and get the exact part names and numbers and have taken pics. ![]() ![]() Can somebody please help me out with what is required? I've also had quotes of Aus $2000 to fix and I'm sure parts would be under $200?? Realistically how long would the job take? Seems incredibly high! Cheers Homer_a_ |

The part you need should be 31336779613, the same on both left and right. Part number 1 on this diagram:
http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...48&hg=31&fg=10 In Australia, you should be able to get them for $39 each: http://clickableautomotive.com.au/ca...?q=31336779613 If it hasn't already been done, you probably should change the struts at this point (and the rear shock absorbers / dampers too) as the labour cost to disassemble the strut to replace the top mount will be the same whether the strut is replaced or not, with a 10 year old vehicle they are probably worn out. The labour time to replace the struts should be about 1 hour per side. |

Just had mine done at 90K+miles (check your model with or without sport package suspension (likely you have SP)). New mounts front and rear, pads, struts (blistens) shocks and HR springs as well. and realignment as well. Handles like it was new and a tad better.
