No More Floor Mats?

Last Monday when I picked up my 328i Sport Line one of the first things I noticed when I opened the door was I had all black carpet floor mats. The dealer looked and was just as shocked as I should have had the red piping around the outside of the mats.

I talked with the dealer this afternoon and he told me that BMW is claiming they not longer install floor mats. He said he is going to, at his own cost, order a set for me. My dealer has been very knowledgable and a top salesman for years with the dealership and I do not believe he is lying. Is he being lied to?

So has anyone else ran into this issue? What if any was the answer? This is a week 46 Germany built 328.

Ideas? Thoughts?

The "all black" mats are all we get here as standard as well. The Red piping version has never been standard in the US on sportline or otherwise...

Those are the floor mats that come standard with the Sport Line - all black with no red piping. You can buy aftermarket mats with red piping, but it does not come standard. At least we get floor mats at all on the F30 since it was an additional cost dealer install for the E9x.

Well all be damned I guess. I have no idea why we both thought that was standard, it would make way more sense...

Wondering if I should tell the salesman that sold me the car or get a new set of floor mats....

I love these. Just swapped the front ones out. Back I can deal with all black.

As others have stated, the black carpeted mats are included from the factory.

What you're referring to are the all-weather mats which are heavy-duty rubber with a protective lip and have red trim for the Sport line models. I have the mats pictured above for the Luxury line but with black trim.

Most dealers throw these in for free when you take delivery as a "thank you" and an assurance that you'll give them high scores on the post-purchase phone survey's. I'm in my 3rd 3 Series, each from a different BMW dealer, each dealer threw them in for free after I asked them to.

Just ordered the front set, I was going to look at some after market ones but these look good and I trust you. Worse comes to worse you owe me 100 bucks.....

You have a deal. You wont be disappointed with them. It really finishes off the car right. It needs that one more Red pop upholstery-wise.

We didn't get any either with our sport line. But, it appears if I ask my dealer, he should be able to get them for me, yes? This I could do.

I had already ordered the rubber mats and have them in so this can wait until the snow melts.

You may be different, but I leave my rubber mats in all the time. I've got kids in sports and so the spring is all about baseball, the summer is about the beach, the fall is about soccer. So there's always dust, sand, and mud threatening the car and its so easy to wash the rubber mats as opposed to stressing over the condition of the carpeted mats that I avoid the whole thing and stick with the rubbers.

these are not like BJs right all rubber? The website had a average picture so I couldn't tell. totally agree with the Red pop, didn't think I would like it but I do and have gotten many compliments on it.

The link I provided was for the carpeted ones with the heel pad on the driver's side and just a full carpeted pad for the passenger.

The rubber all weather sport-line mats are quite good.

Just got the last night, I got the ones with the carpet. They look and feel AWESOME. Thank you Monkey.

All five bimmers I've had since 2003, none came with mats.

They come with bland, carpeted mats standard.

There is an upgraded carpeted mat with a rubber heel pad.

There is an all-weather mat that is all rubber.

Most of us negotiate one of the two optional mats as a throw-in upon delivery.
