Washing the car the other day, key fob in my pocket, hose in my right hand.
When the water from the hose hit the door handles, I continually locked and unlocked the doors depending on where the water hit. My impression was, that it was not from the pressure from the water on the door handles, but rather that the signal was being transmitted through the water.

Put your key fob inside the car (doors unlocked) when washing the car. This will prevent the doors from locking when the water hits the handles. I used to put the fob inside the house out of range, then I realized if it's inside the car, the doors won't lock.

I noticed it yesterday while I was washing my car. The fob was in the car, and yet the doors locked, unlocked, ...

Your car shouldn't be able to lock with the fob inside the cabin. Are you saying you can lock it yourself (with your finger, not water), while the fob is in the cabin? There should be no difference between the "mechanism" that initiates the locking, whether your finger or the water. Please try it again. You didn't have the 2nd fob with you, or within range (outside the vehicle), did you?

You are correct markl ... with the fob inside the car, I cannot lock the car from the outside. I just tried it. I must have had the fob in my pocket at the car wash.

By the way, my car was just reprogrammed with ISTA/P v. 2.48.1 and the comfort access works better. No more delay, I can lock doors while the soft close doors are still cycling.

When did this version come out? Was this updated at the dealer and anything else of an improvement worth mentioning? Thanks |
