Feel good thread
I am on here every day and sometimes like now I read thru all the problems with these cars and just sigh.
So post up you good experiences with the e65/e66 I have been trouble free for 3 months after a coolant pipe repair. The car is running great and I am back in love with my 7.

I will say this. I have owned everything. Old American muscle with an engine built and installed with my own hands, to E46 BMW's and W220 S Class MB's (00-07), to Mustangs and Camaro's and trucks, etc in between. Brand new Acura TL's and brand new GM 2500 Diesels.. I bought this car a few months ago and dropped $10.5k cash on it. Paid in hundreds.. I am very overwhelmed with all the issues these cars can develop but am much at ease with things like the expandable coolant pipes. I have thoughts about dumping this car now while I can still get my money out of it, and I have been considering it, but the reason I haven't is I love the feel of this car.. The S class was a car I really liked, I was very happy with it, and kept it longer than anything, there were a few things I was unhappy about with it, and the E65 was the one car that seemed to be the one I felt fit the bill.. I had wanted one for a couple years before I bought one. Now that I have it, I find the problems these cars can have not as important as getting in it and driving. I go back and forth all day from my office to my house, a mile away from each other, and around town for parts etc.. so I am in and out alot, and I have to say, everytime I get in I have a smile on. I love the dash, the interior, the feel, the drive, etc.. and I feel like I am willing to pay for it. I can do most the work myself, and I enjoy fixing things, so maybe it will be a match made in heaven?

So Tuesday night I drove up to Orlando, I have to say I enjoyed every minute of the 3 hours trip.
![]() Well let's exclude the 40 minutes of terrential downpour and lightning, driving 25mph behind tractor trailers (or Lorries for our UK buddies ), I felt safe in my 7. I love the power, the creature comforts, I was in my own cockpit and I had full control. I was excited.. like a kid going on a trip (an "adventure")... I hadn't drive it in a week, you could say I was in withdrawal.. I couldn't wait to pull her out of the garage and do my version of pre-flight inspection. Check, Check, Check she was ready to go.. between 75-80mph is where I kept her... so smooth, so quiet.. I had Pandora streaming, feeling tired was far from my eyes - It was total bliss... And this is why my friends of Bimmerfest... I think the heartache is worth it.

I love taking the 7 on road trips to Vegas with a loaded playlist and Pandora. The Logic 7 makes a four hour drive seem more like two!

The winter tires are going on tomorrow
![]() It means I can use that low end grunt the engine makes. There's just so much torque!

This is a refreshing thread in this forum, it seems like the 7 series forum is a giant problem/solutions forum. I'm happy that you 7 series owners actually take the time to answer fellow owners problems! I'm actually debating on trading in my 08 335i for a 07 750i w/ 84k miles and CPO until october 2013. I've learned a lot about the car these past few days just by looking at this forum (amp, alternator, valve/timing chain gasket). So I would just like to thank all of you guys, If I do go through with this trade, this forum will give me more peace of mind.
Thanks!

i've had my 7 for almost a year now...and it hasnt been without problems thats for sure! my car has around 270k km on it and it still runs like a dream! i occasionally push it to 200kph and never feel a thing! the serenity u get from these cars is overwhelming. when ur driving it u zone out everything else..it gives you a driving pleasure you cant get anywhere else
it always manages to get a big fat grin on my face ![]() right now i'm working on setting up a car pc. manages to connect it to the mmi, still need to resolve power issues and mounting it in the trunk. its a great car to own and a thrill to drive.just jumping in and starting it makes everything worthwhile. i'm thinking of upgrading to the facelift version, mine is a 2002 early model. i can tell you with confidence, i'm hooked ![]() Sent from my GT-P6800 using Bimmer App |

Winter tires installed, Water pump replaced, mechatronics replaced, transmission fluid changed at 60K miles
WOW...I am in shock. The rough shifts from 1-3 are absolutely gone - it's buttery smooth ![]() I'm going to do a winter prep detail tomorrow - hope I finish before the rain/snow mix comes the same day

I wanna join in by saying that, yes, I'm new to BMW (18 days), yes, I am one of those that bought an early model with high mileage (kiss my ass) & I have only posted 3 topics which were all complaints. But, all things considered, I love this car. It has all the features I wanted (except factory SiriusXM) plus more. Heated steering wheel? Auto open/close trunk? Heated rear seats? Come on!!! 70% of '13s aren't even coming with those features. I'm blessed to have such a beast of a car & I will treat her like a queen. Much respect to all fellow owners and knowledgeable persons who take the time out to help me thru my noobhood. One day I'll be the one assisting noobs to come. Peace!

Drove the car up this weekend to Branson, Ozark mountains and we are staying in a beautiful resort outside of the typical mom and pop.
It was a 4 hour drive up and tomorrow it will be a 4 hour travel back home. The car is and always will be a great highway car with 4 adults and my son in the car along for the ride. Having a great time.

love the 7
Picked up an 07 750i sport with 82k miles. Car was dealer maintained and has CPO and maintenance plan to 100k. Couldn't be happier.

117k miles no problem, but lots of maintenance has been done. Most if not all of e65 problems are related to late or no maintenance performed.
This car loves preventative maintenance in time |

I must say, my 730d is going on 200,000km and behaves perfectly. Absolutely everything works without an issue. Infact the maintenance on it is quite cheap considering it's a chain-driven engine. Certainly haven't had many other vehicles with it's reliability. Not to mention it is very frugal! I get 6.6 litres per 100km on the open road!

Whenever I seriously start preparing to sale her and move to my next chariot.... Some random person compliments me on how nice, clean, or sweet my e65 is.
