Where the heck can you get the plastic clip-in retainer ring short of buying an ultra-expensive complete boot from BMW? You guys could make a killing if you'd start making and selling those! Every car I've got has a busted ring (two e24s, an E30 and two E36s) and I didn't break a one of them. All of them were broken when I bought the cars. I'm not paying BMW $85 for the cheapest OEM boot just to get a ring.

You can get shifter boots cheap on Ebay the materials IE the "leather" isn't always the best but they have a new plastic ring and some of them are pretty nice just buy the better /more expensive ones. Then just put in E30 shifter boot in the search bar and 13 will come up and some of them are even the right ones. There's more I'm sure but you would need to do a proper search in ebay motors to find them. I bought one it's much nicer than I expected and it's not broken ,a very big plus since mine had been broken for the last 8yrs.
