Trunk won't close

I got a 2005 530i, noticed my key remote wouldn't work for my trunk, then the trunk release from inside the car stopped working also. Used my key to open my trunk now it will not close. The latch stays in the open position. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem the wires leading to the trunk latch are prone to being
Cut so check on the right side of the trunk lid where the tube that hold the
Whole trunk is kinda hard to explain but that's where the wires go to the

I did check them, I actually took it all off and looked intside, really not sure what I'm doing but the cable(the silver thing) seems like its not moving anymore, like its stuck. What did you do to get yours to work? Thanks

Take the cover off the right side where the battery is located find the wire that lead to your trunk latch, check them to see if the are spliced. I had thought it was my latch and bought a new one only to find out it was these wires.
