Headlights two different colors.

I noticed that the headlights on my 05 545i were two different colors. One is sort of a clear blue and the other is a shade of pink. Is this just normal "wear and tear"? Do they need to be replaced?

The "pink" one is on it's way out. Best to replace both at same time.

@roboe60: thanks! Any suggestions which headlights should I get? Is there some sort of "upgrade" headlight?

Figure out if your car has D1S or D2S and order a set of appropriate set of lights.

@pcy: how do I find that out?

It says D2S on the headlights themselves. The igniter is attached to the bulb on the
D1S bulb assemblies and can be ordered separately on the D2S bulbs.
I'm not sure that you can go with the D1S assembly on pre LCI with no errors.
I've never seen it.

I would go with Osram D2S 4300K xenon lights for both sides.

The higher the Kelvin temp doesn't equate to a brighter bulb as many think.
Philips bulbs are good, but start out blue and immediately turn white as it
warms up. 6000K is probably the highest you should go because it really starts
to get dim and deep blue after that.
And yes, its a bright idea to change both at the same time.
