94/95 BMW 740i Taction Control Light Stays on--Too much slack on cable!

Hi Ive read on some old post about how to fix this. I tried to tighten the cable but it wont tighten down enough. The circle pats can come out and doesnt stay in the spot for it.

SHould I just buy a new cable? I took it to the shop and paid $60 for them to look at it and They said it could be two things. I looked on here and found the loose cable in 1 min. Those A holes didnt!

I turned it until it was tight as can be but still had slack. I pushed the cable back into the wire but still has slack.

I dont want to pay for a new fuel throttle like they are trying to get me to do! Its snowing please help!_a_

Either replace it, or maybe disassemble and shim it?
