Considering a 335i
Hello - I am considering an '10 335i coupe (would be trading my 07 530i)- nicely equipped with 30K miles. I am aware of the HPFP issues - I was wondering if this problem occurs in certain range of miles on the odometer or is it purely a random event. I am assuming this car has the N54. I know all the correct questions to ask the dealer ( I have been real happy with them both on the purchase of my 530 and for service). Any info anyone could give me on this would be appreciated.

My guess is the 2010 335i e92 would have the N55 engine. Which is less prone to hpfp failure but there have been cases reported here & there.
HPFP failures are not necessarily mileage triggered. Can happen at anytime/any mileage. g/l

The odds seem to be in your favor. If it's the N55, then you are safe, statistically speaking. The HPFP seems to have been sorted out. If it's the N54, then odds are decent it was either manufactured with the updated HPFP, or else was already retrofitted with same. The dealer could tell you whether either of these are true.
Edit: missed that it was a coupe. No idea on when the N55 took over on the E92.

I have a 2009 335i and my friend works for BMW. He told me they have pretty much fixed all of the issues the 2008 and priors had except for the brake sensor squeal which they can't seem to fix on mine despite multiple attempts (simple design flaw). The hpfp is also repairable yourself if worse comes to worse later down the road. It can be accessed from the top of the engine but they cover it for 120K now in U.S. I have 33K and had no issues at all.

All they do is throw a new sensor on it but when the brake dust builds up and the rotor gets hot after a few hundred miles, it returns...."S Q U E E E E A K ! ! !....."

Held the computer up to my ear and couldn't hear any squeal from your video but heard a quick squeak at one point. Rotors typically make a grinding sound when worn down. Mine is very loud and pronounced even with windows up. Happens from 5pmh to about 15mph. Next morning, no squeal until after I get to work (17 miles). Sits all day, take off from work, no squeal, get home and squeals until parked when I slow down going around corners.
