2010 BMW 328xi 60k mileage

I purchased 2010 BMW 328xi 60k mileage (3 years 3 months old) with premium/technology/sports/winter package with extended basic maintenance available until 2016/100k. Price: $25k. There is no extended warranty on it so I took extended warranty for $3k until 2017/$100k from carchex. Clean carfax report. up to date maintenance done. Purchased from third party. Took car to BMW dealer and next maintenance date is end of 2013.

Are you unhappy? Or, why do you care now?

Not sure what would make you feel to ask that you got ripped off. Are you finding some problems with the car? I did a rough KBB and the price seems right, if that's what you mean by ripped off.

Enjoy your car .... you always feel you paid a bit much for a BMW but if you have extended warranty and maintenance in your back pocket just enjoy!

Thank you. Car is clean and no problems. I purchased this car without doing much research. So I just would like to know whether I paid more. Also I have 30 days time to cancel extended warranty if I would like to. I am feeling mileage is high so keep extended warranty. So seeking some advise.

Sounds a bit high for a sedan but if it has awd and Winter is Coming. I hear it even is here where you live. Supply/demand: if it has decent packages/options and is in good shape that price sounds very possible for an awd car at retail.

If it's a wagon then I totally believe it, they are hard to find and really holding their values.

Do you feel lucky The dealer has a good markup on the warranty and many pay less after negotiating. i.e. on average you won't spend $3K.

There again if something major happens can you handle a large bill? I have until November to decided if to extend my warranty to seven years. Doubt I'll do it unless the car turns out to be a real stinker repair-wise. My boss has a 528i just turning seven years old; he's had great value from his extended warranty.

Just re-read your original post: did you know BMW offers an extended warranty which can you opt into right up until your car is four years old. That's as I understand it, it's called ECS and a quick search should give more details.

Dealer said it has only extended basic maintenance coverage until 2016/100K (previous owner extended it) and said they can give extended coverage. So I had to go with third party. He suggested 3 third party extended warranty companies among them are jurich or carchex.

If you think you got ripped off, wait until you sell it or trade it in!
