Front Chin Spoiler Installation Help?

A few weeks ago I noticed some rubber piece hanging off the lower front bumper and yanked it off. Some time later I checked online what it was and orrdered the following part:

Now I was about to install it, but could not figure out how it fits. Are there scews needed to keep it in place, or is it crimped on over its length? Should have paid more attention when I took off the broken one.

When working my car this weekend I looked at mine and it seemed to be held on with just pressure. I saw something that may have been glue, or road grime.

I gave it another shot. I forcefully pushed the deep channel on the spoiler over the bottom edge of the bumper which has a very thin lip and could hear and feel the spoiler snap in when forced over the lip in a number of places. Did not use any glue, screws, etc. Did a trial run on the Interstate and spoiler is still on, even after briefly hitting 100MPH + on an empty section.
Maybe that is all it took.
