Mein Auto: 2014 M5
For Sale: 2012 550i M-Sport with Dinan S2

I am selling my 2012 550i to make way for my 2013 M5. The car is located in South Florida.

The car is in showroom condition with only 6800 miles. I have maintained the car immaculately:
- Followed break in procedure and did not tune car until 3000 miles
- Ensured car had enhanced maintenance to ensure optimum condition - early oil changes at 2000 miles and 5000 miles, alignment after the break-in period at 3000 miles
- Xpel Ultimate Film on Bumper, Mirrors, Headlights, Fogs and Side Skirts
- CQuartz Nano-Ceramic coating on paint - 3 coats to provide permanent scratch protection
- Replaced run flat tires with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires

US MSRP was $84,275 + $3,500 Dinan tuning = $87,775. I am asking $69,900.

Full List of Options:
  • M-Sport Package (Dynamic Damper Control, M Aerodynamic Kit, 19" M Wheels, etc.)
  • Active Roll Stabilization
  • Integral Active Steering (4 wheel steering gives tighter turning radius than 3 series - when combined with Michelin PSS tires yields cornering grip higher than E60 550i)
  • Sport Automatic with Paddles
  • Convenience Package (power trunk, comfort access, soft-close doors)
  • Driver's Assistance Package (Lane Departure Warning, Blindspot Monitor, Automatic Highbeams, HUD, side and top view cameras)
  • Luxury Seating Package (active ventilated seats, massage feature, sunshades)
  • Oyster-Black Nappa leather
  • BMW Individual Nappa leather dashboard (very unique special order option)
  • Ceramic Controls
  • Premium Sound (Logic 7 + Sat Radio)
  • Heated Seats
  • BMW Apps

Photographs

* NOTE Window Sticker shows ED MSRP not US MSRP

Someone is going to get one hell of a nice car. Best of luck with the sale, and can't wait for the M5 reports.

Great car, nice price. If I had not just purchased mine, I would be very tempted.

So what happened Stealth? Do I vaguely remember you saying that 550 S2 offers a much better value and more "civilized" day-to-day ride than an M5?

Anyhow, best of luck with the swap. Magnificent shots, stunning ride. Wonder what trade-in value is the dealer offering?

UPDATE: My bad, that was dunderhi that said that, I think.

Dunderhi said that. If you remember I reviewed the M5 last October and I was amazed that in Comfort mode it is just as comfortable with better ride quality than the 550I in Comfort mode.

Haven't gone to dealer for trade in quote since my dealer is 770 miles away. BMW in Miami won't buy my car unless I buy a car from them.

beautiful car good luck with the sale... one question though why do you have your rear climate control set in Celsius if you live in US?

Try Braman WPB or Lauderdale Imports - Pines BMW. I think they would buy your car from you. I think you will get more for it if you sell privately as the Manheim values are not too hot right now and a private buyer will see value in your Dinan S2 and Pilot Super Sports whereas the dealer will not give a crap about those items. GLWS.

I switched the car to Celsius, so if my European friends and family ask me what temperature it is, I will know the answer. I always know the temperature in fahrenheit because I have the weather forecast on my phone.

Better value than an M5? Hmmm, I don't remember saying that, but I am getting older, so if you guys say so....

Maybe you guys might remember me saying that if BMW built an AWD M5, I would buy one. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it at least a dozen times. Now that the formerly disavowed M6GC has been spotted testing, there's my next hope for an AWD M car. I know, it's a snowballs chance in ...

Stealth, your 550 looks sweet, hopefully a lucky buyer will snap it up pretty quick.

Beautiful car. Since I'm in South Florida, I was tempted, but decided to order an MY13 535i instead. Someone will get a beautiful ride.

Thanks for the support guys. In the meantime I'm still loving driving this car.

A tip for those who are wondering Dinan 550i - no throttle lag or tip in issue. Come test drive it to see for yourself!

Ans yes the Dinan warranty is transferable. If you are gonna track The M5 car, I would either seriously wait for the Carbon Brakes which for some reason are delayed. I'm not sure you can get them retro fitted, I'm sure for an arm and a leg. Or you can buy the GPower Brakes, but then you have to pay for pad replacement. Either way, it's something to consider.

No I won't be taking my own car on the track. Insurance only covers road use.

I will be doing the 2 day M school though.

I'll be there in 15 hours... I'll take a quick lap to DC and back in it make sure I give it all the driving a test drive deserves

Yep... I'd rather have a car owned by stealth then a new one (unless colors or AWD were in issue )

Nope. Is there any benefit to eBay? I would never auction it due to pricing risk.

Pricing risk? Sorry, but I don't understand.

E-bay offers great market exposure.

I would have thought that anyone shopping for a car on eBay would also shop on Autotrader or Cars.com

What's the benefit of ebay? How does it work?

More exposure and you will probably find more people willing to buy the car without seeing it because of the buyer protection, even though it caps out at $50k.
The only down side to ebay are the auction fees, but it's relatively peanuts in your price range.

Put it on ebay and put a reserve on it. Your pictures are very attractive enough to generate interest in the car but you have to clearly point out why it is a very special car to justify the asking price.
