Wu! Wraps Custom Automotive Wraps FINALLY HERE FOR BIMMERFEST E9x owners!!

Hello everyone!

Sup guys, my names Mark Wu (Wu! Wraps) from Seattle WA & i do custom vinyl wrapping for cars, bike parts, whatever you wanna send my way! i've been doing this for over the last 3yrs now n started out working on my own stuff. i've built up a good rep & lots of local work over the years now. I've proabably worked on over 150+ BMW's and roughly 300+ projects in general. I thought this maybe the time to expand my services nationally. I've done some Craigslist ads in the past nationally with some results but i feel this is more of a "official" approach. so here i am! So here we go, just some pics of work that i've done over time, feel free to hit me up with any questions, tips, pricing, etc. that you might have about what i do & if you are attempting to do this yourself.

OUT OF STATE GUYS:

So if you want your interior trim wrapped in your vehicle but, don't wanna bother with the DIY, tried it b4 and wanted to blow your brains out, can't find a local joint to do this for you, local joints don't wanna even mess with it, local joints don't even know what the hell you want them to do (happened to me), etc etc... SEND IT TO ME! I've noticed that most of the out of state stuff that is mailed to me is from the east coast... Dunno why but that's how it's been. What i've found works best is you pull your parts, pack them up in a box that is ROOMY, and mail it out to me. If you use UPS/FEDEX buy a prepaid shipping label for the trip back home and put it in the box, this way you control shipping speed and cost. If you use USPS you will paypal me the cost of whatever shipping you choose with the cost of the job. I always ship USPS with insurance & signature confirmation!

Pricing:
when messaging me about wrapping some stuff for you please include:
1- your NAME
2- what state you from
3- YR/MK/MDL
4- what you want wrapped
5- what material you may want it done in, ie: carbon fiber black, carbon fiber white, gloss black, matte black, brushed black aluminum, zebra print, etc...

All prices are under the assumption that the material you want it wrapped in is in stock. If i need to special order a certain color for you it will be an extra $25-$50 depending on what material it is. Also prices are for guys mailing/ bringing me parts off the car. IF YOU ARE LOCAL and want me to pull all parts off car & reassemble price will be a lil bit more for that. pricing varies from car to car, some are super easy to pull, some take hours!...

BMW 1-series:
E87 interior trim $200.00

BMW 3-series:
E46 sedan interior trim $200.00

BMW 5-series:
E34 interior trim $200.00
E39 interior trim $250.00
E60 interior trim $250.00

some examples:

So here comes some pics! i will start with just BMW stuff i've done...

did this one in 3m di-noc ca-420 graphite! great color, nice and rich under flash, nice and satin look under natural lighting. a great contrast to any color interior. this is pretty much the full package for bmw e92, did the steering wheel insert and the rear compartment cover, if it was a auto i would have done the shift kknob insert as well. came out great! this is another CNC in bellevue job. owner is very very happy with the results. the oem brushed aluminum trim was pretty chipped up on almost all parts so this is a great refresh to the interior! Wu! Wraps

bmw e92 m3 steering wheel trim to match the rest of the center console n stuff i did a couple days ago:

another bmw e92 trim. the oem brushed aluminum trim was knicked up all over the place, not a good look. wrapped up everything including the shifter bezel, steering wheel trim, rear seat sliding tray bezel, and driverside door handle (oem rubbery material peeling off all over on these 3 parts). came out great! owner is very happy with the new look! Wu! Wraps

sup sup, finished this up last ngiht, bme e92 m3 center console wrapped in carbon fiber fabric matte black from www.pyspeed.com. believe it or not this part took 3.5hrs to complete! 1st have to remove the oem wrapped leather, then sand the hell out of it with a 50grit sandpaper, wash it, dry it, cut my materials, and finally glue on the carbon fiber fabric and trim... reason for using the fabric as opposed to the vinyl is that the bmw e92 m3 usually comes with the optional carbon fiber leather trim. however they do not offer the center console as a part of the trim. the cf fabric is the closest match to the OEM stuff. this is a out of state job from san marcos cali. packed and shipped back today. owner is diggin it from the pics! Wu! Wraps

another bmw e92 335 coupe done up! this car has the saddle brown interior which is very rare and i really like! this is the complete trim wrap job for the e92. full interior trim + steering wheel trim, shifter insert, and rear sliding tray bezel. came out great! might be doing some more cf accents on the exterior in the future. Wu! Wraps

+

BMW e82 1-series M sport steering wheel trim done in 3m di-noc ca-418 white carbon fiber. came out great! owner has a white on red on gloss white interior trim! super rare, special order setup. this job took .75hr. Wu! Wraps

bmw e90 3m 1080 gloss black vinyl wrap on the interior trim:

Beautiful work, mang. The color and texture selections make for some striking results. Except for the deliberately conspicuous color choices (e.g., the white CF), wrapping the steering wheel insert seems a bit overkill to me, but some probably like it.

You used Di-Noc on all the interiors (except where you said you were using CF fabric)? You didn't find it harder to work with than the Scotchprint 1080? Is the Di-Noc glue any better-- the inside curved corners don't stay put with the 1080 in the hot Southern California sun.

i use, di-noc for interior & exterior. just depends on what the customer wants. i prefer to use the 3m 1080 since its easier to work with, goes over complex curves/recessed areas/ folds over edges better. i also use the cf fabric sold by www.pyspeed.com www.destronsgarage.com. these products i use maybe 1 out of 100 now, vinyl is much easier to use, thinner, wraps corners better, more reliable.

so in order of best to worst to work with best 1st:

1- 3m 1080 vinyl
2- 3m di-noc vinyl
3- cf fabric
4- non air release vinyl/cheap chinese vinyl with no air release

"Is the Di-Noc glue any better-- the inside curved corners don't stay put with the 1080 in the hot Southern California sun. "

the di-noc glue is stronger in my opinion, the di-noc material is just too thick. it's all about how you cut your relief cuts, where you decide to start stretching on a curved section, and if you are usung 3m primer 94 or not, and if you are using 3m primer 94 correctly/ in the right spots.

thanks for the detailed & well put together questions & comments! =)

so this would obviously be a local job... good reference for out of state guys that may want this done. would be nice to show this to any tint/vinyl wrap/sign shop in your area as a guide.

BMW 135i e82 window trim wrapped in 3m 1080 gloss black. came out great! 1-series is a little bit different than the e9x cars i've done a lot of. has a rubber seal that divides the rear quarter panel trim to the sloping long upper trim. makes for a more challenging cut there. since the rubber seal is so small and butts up against the chrome, you can't tuck the vinyl, just gotta cut it as close as you can. this job took about 2hrs to complete. sup sup, did this one today. BMW X5 interior trim wrapped with 3m 1080 brushed black! came out excellent! this is the 2nd X5 i've done, this one was a bit faster. still a nightmare removing the entire center console to unscrew the trim prior to wrapping... everything came out great tho, this job took around 5-6hrs to complete. i'm thinkin this brushed black is gonna become very popular very fast! Lexus IS250 interior trim wrapped in 3m 1080 anthracite carbon fiber. came out great! also did the air vents and yellow foglights in oracal 8300 yellow film. his fogs were really faded and pitted, a lil claybar and new fresh glossy vinyl makes them look a lot newer. owner is very happy with the results, this was about a 3hr job. might do more stuff on this one later. Stone Roots: mail your stuff to me, if you have the e39, it's pretty easy to remove it all, with 1 exception! if you have the stock cd/tape cover lid thing, that does not come off easy at all. i can always mail you a sheet and you can wrap that one yourself. pm me if your interested!

tturedraider: thanks for the heads up! will do!

Audi S4 B8 rear diffuser wrapped in 3m 1080 carbon fiber. this was a pretty tricky diffuser, up there in degree of difficulty... tried to pull it off the bumper on the car but no go, tabs were toooo stiff. ended up pulling the rear bumper off, and doing it. took the chrome part off, wrapped that in 2 parts (top & bottom seamed with knifeless tape). did the rear diff in 2 sections (the main area & the way back in another strip since the vinyl was too bunched up to save). no one will ever tell there is seams in this job. also did the ACHTUNING license plate frame, sorry forgot to take a pic of that... all in all came out great! bad pics, too dark outside to take good ones as well... total job time was 4.5hrs! owner is diggin tha new look tho! sup sup, did this one the other day, BMW e92 335i coupe interior trim wrapped in 3m di-noc ca-421 carbon fiber vinyl. been a while since i've used this material, almost forgot how much more time it takes to work with this stuff than 3m 1080... all parts came out great! total job time on this was around 5hrs. didn't get good pics of it all installed, too dark and di-noc tends to look blueish gray under bad lighting... will be doing some more stuff on this one in the future! You do really good work!

Let me ask a dumb question. Is the vinyl permanent? If someone changes their mind, can it be removed without damage to the wood underneath?

Bill-SD: thanks for the comments! vinyl is not permanent, you can peel it off no prob. easier with a heat gun to heat it up and get it nice and soft and you can peel it off no sweat. no damage to the oem finish, this stuff is made for this purpose. cheap vinyl that is calendared WILL leave glue residue but will not hurt the finish either. calendared vinyl is like bumper stickers, and window decals u see on stores and stuff.
