E34 will not shift

I have a 1992 E34 that is having some issues with shifting. It's an auto transmission and started out with it slipping when it would shift from 1st to 2nd. Since then we have replaced the throttle position switch and the A/M switch. It has all new fluid and filters also. Now it no longer slips out of gear, it just won't shift at all from 1st to 2nd. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? Thanks for any help!!
