Switching phones

Does anyone know how to change the connected phone when 2 people have phones that are paired. When my wife an I are out together, it seems that her phone connects, but I am driving. I would like to swith from her phone to mine. Currently, we turn hers off, and then wait for mine to connect. Is there a better way? Thanks.

You can do it in iDrive. I've done that when my wife wants to make a call. We selected her phone on the menu and it switched the pairing.

If you have the enhanced Bluetooth (technology package in 2013 US model I believe) you can have two phones paired and active at once.

I believe you have to enable "additional phone" then you can set her phone as "additional phone".

I know that with the technology package, you can have up to 4 phones paired and connected to the system but only one active at a time. You can switch back and forth between connected phones . This can be done from the Bluetooth menu under Settings.

Please see pages 193-197 of the manual for information on setting up a second phone as "additional phone" if your vehicle has enhanced Bluetooth.

Additional telephone
A mobile phone can be used as an additional telephone.
The additional telephone can be used to accept
incoming calls, refer to page 196. While a call is
active on the additional telephone, received
calls are displayed on the Control Display.
