Sold mine last year..had to make room for the kiddo. Had 41k miles on it when I sold her. 11k miles on the build. Sunk $50k in mods in that car. She is sorely missed. Twin turbo with a 150 shot on top. Tons of fun'

Looks like my buddy Jeff's car. He ran the single turbo power lab kit. Did you buy her CT?

No, can't say that I have. MRC use to be the shop to go to up north. Unfortunately they closed shop some time ago. Where ever you end up, make sure they specialize in the VQ and/or VR.

I own a forum dedicated to boost and about to start selling parts as well. Lmk if you need anything. I know the Z inside and out. Owned my Z for 7 years. She was built n boosted for 6 years...never had an issue and I beat on mine at MSR Houston on a regular basis. If you're looking for a tuner I know a handful that tune them on a regular basis. What ems was Jeff running? Utec? Haltech?

honestly couldnt tell you the answer. i bought it from a guy who within the last year bought it from jeff so i dont have all the answers. I'm going to try to make it to baltimore and go to hills garage who did all the tuning and specializes in z's and infinities. I'm new to the turbo world and really appreciate you offering help. I asked this Q on my350z and some DB got his jimmies rustled.... do you recommend the boost be turned down and tuned to 5lbs from 10 for daily driving? I want this car to last a good while and have good piece of mind knowing the engine isn't being put under to much strain... also oil with a turbo, what did you use? 5-30 mobil1 synthetic? and a particular filter you recommend? i really appreciate you offering to help.

10# is fine. I wouldn't take her any higher than 10#. The stock rods are the weak link. If you beat on her a little bit here and there, you'll be fine. Just give her a break between runs. If your car doesn't have a turbo timer...let her idle for a minute before you turn the car off if you have been running her hard. This will give the oil time to circulate and cool off. This keeps the oil in the turbo from cooking and will extend the life of the turbo. As for oil, I used a mixture of 10w60 (greddy) and 5w30 (Castro). My setup was a little more extreme. This mix kept my oil pressure where it needed to be. On a stock motor 5w30 is fine. Castrol or mobil1. It wouldn't be a bad idea to send a sample of you oil to Blackstone when you do an oil change. They tell you what its doing to the motor. Stays away from royal purple...the VQ doesn't like that oil. There is a thread on my350 with a bunch of ppl posting results. A lot of good info for different setups. Hope this helps.

Oh, change your oil more often than a regular car. 2000 miles if you beat on her, 3000 if you don't beat on her much. Blackstone can give you a better idea of intervals when they analyze your oil. I was a little ocd on my car, so I did oil changes often.

thanks man again. Im on my phone , is the FI section the DIY part? also i'm really going to be needing a turbo timer and see that you can get the HKS tt for $90 on ebay... how hard are they to install? I'm going to be getting an oil change in the next week, 2 quarts of greedy 10w 60 and 3 5w30 sounds right to you?

Glad to see you got it. I figured the owner would have screwed it up or ran it into a tree by now.

Mobil 1 euro blend 0w40 is what you want. Holds about 7.5 quarts if you fully drain the system and around 5.5 if you only drain it from the drain plug. The cooler holds a good bit. Make sure you keep an eye on the cooler lines for rubbing. I noticed some but fixed it. Chances are my fix is holding up I don't half ass stuff.

Keep the tune it is a great tune. Osirus. If you want to run 5psi Just let up on the foot.

I lost my ass on this car on the trade I made for it. I pretty much swapped for a piece of **** car that was run into the ground. My fault for trustin the seller. Normally I'd do a full run down on it but the car seemed to check out... Couldn't have been more wrong.

Glad to see you're into it. I just hope you find a DD it really is a show car.

You don't need a turbo timer. It's a legit g35r with oil and water cooling. Just drive it lightly for the last 2 minutes.

Thanks so much man. Glad to finally be able to get intouch with you! The car is a work of art and apprciate all that you have done to it. Im having it detailed so its back in show room shape because it has a good bit of swirls. Do you have any more recommendedations specifically related to this car? For upkeep and such . I want to keep this car healthy as possible! Also thanks for the tip on the turbo timer:-)

I know too much. I had the car since 2004

I'm sure the seller didn't point it out but the passenger side fender can't be fixed. It's been buffed wet sanded and gone over agin and again. That fender was painted a long time ago and had bad prep. Needs to be repainted as with the knick in the bottom corner of the passengers door.

Redline mirrors and gas cap are not clear coated from the factory so those will never shine correctly either.

I'll post more up later I'm at work on the cellphone.

Main thing is check oil often. Turbo zs tend to use oil. A lot will end up in the catch can. Also check often for oil cooler leaks. It's never leaked but should always be watched.

Interesting... I sold my Z and went to my first Bimmer: 745i

Was one of the very first with a VIN in the low 1,000s. Fun ride indeed. It was hooked up quite nicely! Enjoy and be careful.
