If I had to guess...there is a fan in the trunk behind the liner on the drivers side. This cools the amps for the stereo and it is pretty loud when it's running.

No man, it's not that, I guess it's the gas pump, it's because of using crappy gas. My friend advised me to use only chevron, and now after about refilling from chevron for about four times, the problem is solved,
I guess there was some debris that were in the gas pump. Now that I used chevron, it cleaned it. Now I understand why chevron is more expensive!!!! |

Let me guess, your friend works for Chevron.
![]() Good gas is important though. I've seen bad gas put a few cars and even a BMW motorcycle into limp mode.

I think the pump is in the tank and if it is when your fuel level gets really low the pump is not fully submersed in fuel so it sounds noisy. When you have plenty of fuel the sound isn't bad because the tank is not empty. I doubt the chevron fuel has anything to do with the noise.
Also it is good practice to never let your tank level to go less than 1/4. The fuel also acts as a coolant to cool the pump if you always drive near empty the pump has a tendency to always run hot and will eventually overheat and go out.

Chevron gas on the left coast has Techtron in it. That is why it is more expensive and widely recommended in CA. They have so many stupid rules about gas that the typical stuff will ruin a high performance car. The max octaine in CA is 91.
