5 series to an X5

Hi guys...I currently own a 2008 535xi. Thinking about trading in my Murano for an X5. My "issue" is which year of this model to purchase. Where there huge changes in the 2007 and up models? I noticed some interior changes but, mor concerned about mechanical and other issues. Might be a dumb statement...after all it is a BMW.

I like the 2008 models, but I ear that the 2006 models were good as well. I'm also steering away from the 4.0 (8 cylinders). Thanks for any suggestions....

2011 got the lci update. 2012 and post 4/11 production 2011 diesels got the LED corona rings. I'd get a 2011 diesel

I can't answer your question but wanted to say we are also going from a '99 528 to a '11 35d.

I agree with Kar Don....get the diesel! People in the know (??) told me to try to get a '10 if getting a diesel but they didn't elaborate.
