What should my money factor actually be?

I keep seeing the .00125 number on forums and around the web. I'm a first-time lessee with excellent credit (BMWFS qualified me for tier 1) - the dealer gave me .00135 money factor. Does that sound correct or should I be working for the .00125? I'm in PA looking for a '13 X3 35i.

Dealers are allowed to mark up rates.

There might be some CAs or BMW NA employees who can confirm, but I have been looking at X3's as well. The base rate I found for money factor has been .00125 for the 2.8i and .00135 for the 3.5

You can lower it with MSDs (up to seven of them)

I read somewhere the money factor is basically the APR. Take the money factor and multiply it by 2400 and you get the actual APR. So the MF of .00125 equates to a 3.0% APR.

For an elite rating, the MF is mentioned in BMW FS page.

At this time though out USA, the MF is 0.00130 for 3-series & 0.00125 for X1 series.


If you tell, you won;t take 135, they will lower it for you. The same is with Bank Fee, my dealer marked up to $849 and I told them that I will only pay $725(standard). The manager then agreed to give it.

So make sure you are fully informed before you step-in thru the dealership frontdoor.
