It's Red!

We've had our new 335i LuxoLiner for about two weeks now and we love it. My wife particularly has almost shunned her 330cic for the new car. We have about 750 miles on it now after a 450 trip down the Delmarva peninsula and across to Williamsburg, Richmond, WashDC and home. The car performed flawlessly although we did notice a bit of wind and tire noise.

Pictures below.

And lastly, here is "Red" sharing space with his stablemate, "Blue".

A good question. Fortunately, I enjoy driving Blue - it's an 02 with only 55k miles. runs well, and has the more classic BMW steering, heavier than the f30. We trade back and forth. But I gotta tell you, she has really, really taken a shine to Red!

That rag top has really long doors. I'm using Elfa suspended shelves so I can pull the vert over to the right against the wall. What you don't see, opposite the right rear tire, is a 5500 watt generator. So the trick is to pull straight in and when the back wheels go over the bump apron/garage floor, immediately cut the wheel to the right so the right fender is under the shelves. Lots of room between the cars - no fear of door dings. Looks weird but effective.

This is an edit, adding a photo of the two cars side by side in the garage. Love Elfa shelving. Six or Eight screws across the top bar and everything else suspends from it. Oh, and that thing you see above the light is the hard top for Blue. Just back the car up underneath and drop the top on or pull it off. Very convenient.

Luxury Nation welcomes you. Very unique, love the chrome window trim against the red.

Congrats. Nice looking red 335. All you need now is a white BMW to join in with the other two.

Congrats! Great looking ride. Can't get over how much the 3 series has grown in a decade.

Just curious if you got DHP with the Luxury Liner.

I am most likely getting a 2014 328 6MT Sport or M-Sport, but I am considering Luxury w/DHP to get the Saddle Interior.

Thanks

Good looking car. My dealer had a white with Saddle when I was shopping that I considered. Had a a red lux line in the showroom but solid black interior and as I found out on my E92 thats a no-no where I live

How is the Coral Red in the Heat? Improvement over the black?

Yes, the f30 is larger than the e9x and certainly the e46. What makes it nice for traveling of course are the rear seats folding down. For two people, there is a ton of luggage space with room left over for a small dog cage.

I have no intention of tracking this car, either in DEs or AutoX. I did DEs and AutoX with my old Porsches. It's out of my system.

We wanted a fast, safe and comfortable, good handling car for trips. Hence, other than the 335 option, luxury, and premium options, we selected only heated seats, Tech Package, back up camera and the mandatory park thingee. There are no handling or m options/packages.

The 335 does provide the Sport mode and that's all we need. It's friggin fast!

The 2002 330i has a sport option, low to the ground with staggered wheels, etc. Its ride is very taut.

I've made arrangements for a person who does code mods to come to the house and throw a few switches, e.g., tire temps and pressures, close windows, with fob, disable nanny accept screen, turn off iDrive when door is opened, put turn signals in HUD, and enable fogs with high beams.

Its an improvement but since there is still a lot of black trim and black headliner there is still a lot of retained heat after the car sits all day. Better than the solid black though.

Plus the F30 has the vent feature which I can set to come on before I get into the car and blows some of the hot, stagnant air out.
