How to auto decrease volume when nav guidance is on?

I have just taken redelivery on my Sdrive28i last Saturday. On the way home, while using Nav, I noticed that the guidance instruction does not automatically lower the music volume. My first generation I-drive will descrese the back ground music when a guidance was being spoken.

I searched around but the only solution seems to be to increase the guidance volume when it's talking. This is not he answer I was looking for. I had read from an official BMW site, under the description of the professional nav, that the music volume is supposed to lower automatically during a call or nav guidance.

Any solution to this?

Check the Tone menu and see if there is a setting for NAV volume.

Try turning off the radio. Then WHILE the navigation voice is on, turn up the volume. This should increase the volume of the navigation independently from the radio volume.

Is it designed to lower the radio/music on the x1? It does on my 5 series.

The muting is supposed to be automatic. My E60 has this function but not the X1. I know how to adjust the guidance's volume, it's the self-muting of the music that I can't find.
