Rough idle & engine light

Have a 2014 650i Gran Coupe with about 800 miles on it, loving it so far!

Anyway, yesterday I noticed it was idling just a little rough after a cold start. Engine light is on, I wonder what it could be?

The gas cap is on correctly and I've only used 91 octane (the best we have in NV) since new.

I'll have the dealer take a look and report back with what they find.

Engine light stayed on for two days, but was not on this morning when I dropped off the car to service. When I was there the service advisor informed me that there was a recall on my car for a software update. I'll get details on exactly what the recall is supposed to address when I pick up the car but he stated that it's an actual recall and not just a routine update.

Well, to finish up this one-man thread, the engine light came up as a one-time misfire and hasn't repeated. No word on what could have caused that, although I've heard some reports of fuel injector issues with these cars so I'll keep an eye on it.

The "recall" was related to the software and the oil level sensor. Apparently it addresses a concern about the car telling you it needs an oil change after only a short number of miles driven. Doesn't seem like a safety recall to me, but the paperwork was clear that they were not to let go of any of these cars until the software update had been applied. Affects all N63T engines, apparently.
