Bmw 328 Anyone know how to get a Beep when you lock your car?
I have had a 2007 bmw 328i and when I locked the door, it would confirm with a beep..... I just got a 2013 328xi and it wont beep.... I have been thru the owners manual, and I cant find anyplace that will confirm I locked the car with a beep. Anyone have any suggestions.. I know this is trivial, but it was a good feature.

Need to have the alarm system which is an optional item for the 328i. I believe the alarm comes standard in the 335i.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing, I swear my new F30 was beeping when I locked the doors but now it is not. I did switch key fobs and was wondering if this was prgrammed for the other key fob and I just have to re-enable it for the new key fob. I do not have the alarm by the way.

Yep, and you can tell from the FOB... if it has the alarm button then you get the beep (if enabled via iDrive).

I find it very interesting that 40k+++ BMW's don't come with an alarm standard....

Last I knew they were all standard on cars for the last 5-6 years depending on the make.

$40k + is not what it used to be. Not all that sure an alarm is all that effective anyway... a determined thief will get your car one way or another.

If you have an alarm, you can configure the setting in iDrive to beep, or not beep.
