645 ci Transmission issues - help!

I have a 2005 with 95k miles. The tranny has never been serviced. My mechanic tells me it needs to be serviced and will cost $750. The tranny does seem to slip ever so slightly sometimes when shifting gears. Anyone have experience with this?

You need to define what "Serviced" means, and yes 100K is a required trans. maintenance. If he is pulling the pan and replacing it then and filter than that's not bad.

Around 75,000 miles my tranny had a slight slip and the pan had a small leak. Changed the fluid and filter (filter is in the pan) and it has been perfect ever since. $750 seems kind of high but I am not really certain what stateside prices are on most repairs.

My guess is that you paid no more than 100.00? There should be labor laws over there!

Ha Ha...sometimes it is so cheap I pay them double what they charged. I had a 50" Plasma and the power supply died in it. This is a 110V U.S. version TV. Part online was $100. They charged me $10 and even made it dual voltage (110V-240V). Top that off and they called and said they could make it multisystem for $20 more.

Now my 50" is MultiSystem and Dual Voltage for $30 so I gave them $70. Still cheaper than the original bad part online.

Coming back Stateside is gonna be major sticker shock.

I see the car is a new color again. It is hard to believe how prices are so different around the world?

look up "the CTSC" California Transmission Supply Company, you need part number 26 28 32 ock for $241.95. You will get the pan with integrated filter and the required oil. also change the Mechatronics sleeve part number: 0501 216 272 01
List Price: $19.39.
I was going to order those parts for my car this winter but they do not ship to Canada, will have to order the parts when I know I go to the US or when I have someone visit from the US.

$750 is quite high considering that the necessary parts and fluid will only be around $250-$300. However, I'd agree that you should still service the transmission ASAP.

Don't forget that that kit does not come with the oil pan gasket. One will need to order the gasket along with the newer torx bolts separately.

What fluid did you have access, at your location?
