2007 X3 Water Pump Inquiry
Hello everyone,
I recently changed the thermostat on my X3 due to code P0597 - Thermostat Heater Control Circuit Open. So far everything is fine, I was just wondering when I should change the waterpump. The vehicle is 2007 X3 3.0si. |

That is an excellent question that I tried to answer myself by rooting around on the e90 forum. I'm not seeing any trends to them failing at all. I'm currently at 101,800 and mine is running just fine. They are lubed and cooled by engine coolant so they may go a long time without failure. I hope..... because they are pricey. I can't tell if they have brushes in them which is what usually gets fuel pumps.

Either way I won't be working on this soon due to the winter in CT. |

I did some research and as I suspected they're brushless so they should last a very long time. I hope so anyway.
