Music backup & Restore

I am trying to reorganize the music I had stored in my i328. I did the backup, then moved the files from 3 directories into 1, and adjusted the data_X files (changed 3 lines in the data_1 to 1 line, and changed the count in data_1_count from 3 to 1). And for some reason the BMW can't import my data. It tries, and fails.

I noticed the info file might be the key. The format is basically:

(blank line)
(number of files)
(size in bytes of all files)
(timestamp of backup)
(some serial number)

I don't know what the ??? is though, and I think that it is what is causing my restore not to work. Any ideas?

I wanted to change the world, but God wouldn't give me the source code.

My guess is your alterations means a hash tag count no longer matches, and so the car refuses to import it. I remember a thread on this over a year ago, and BMW does some weird renaming on export as a way to prevent the ripped files from being used elsewhere. On the import it knows what to look for and corrects for it.
