Angel Eyes

Hi guys!

I have just installed my new WeissLicht LED Angel Eyes onto my 2006 X5 but ran into a problem. The very far right ring displays some yellow color when the LED bulb is on. All the other angel eyes look great but that one to the right.

Is it possible that the halo ring is dirty and reflecting the wrong light into the ring?

Has anyone ran into this problem before and might have a suggestion on how to fix it? Thank you in advance!

Here is a link of the left headlight and what it should look like:

This is what the headlight actually looks like on the right side:

Angel eyes

The angel eyes use a light pipe to deliver the light to the inside halo. The LED lamp is installed in the outside halo and the light is disTributed to the inside halo by the light pipe.
Options and test:
1. Bad led lamp.
2. Dirty light pipe.- unlikely as these are sealed.

The led lamp has a bad set of leds on the side facing the light pipe. These led lamps use a remote phosphor system that use a blue led coated with a phosphor coating to deliver the desired light out put color. It seems to me that the light output of the led on the side with the light pipe may be weak or off color. Try switching the led lamp from the current headlamp into the other and see it it performs the same. If so the led lamp is bad. If not then the light pipe may have a dirt film on the inside of the light pipe. Use a pipe cleaner and gently run it thru the access port. I am guessing the lamp is the issue.
