Tint on F30
Tinted the 335i last Friday. LLumar 30% all the way around. I went with a lighter tint (usually go 15%) because I think a more subtle tint looks better on the BMWs. It's more of an accent for the vehicle. I like the choice of 30%, i think it's just the right amount. Looks a little darker IRL.
Anyone else tint their F30? What tint shade do you use? Did you wish you went darker or lighter?

I used LLumar as well. Went 35 in the front 20 for the rears and 15 for rear windshield. Love it.

Did you or the tint shop scrape off the ED sticker in the rear side windows?

A lot of votes for Llumar. What is it about Llumar that appealed to all of you? Is it the looks, the price/value?
I just took a look at their performance specs and they appear to be far inferior to 3M Crystalline in terms of TSER for a given visible light level. That's my primary criteria given that I live in a hot climate, but perhaps not so important for others? Genuinely curious. |

What kind of prices are you all seeing for F30's w/ ceramic such as Llumar, 3M and Huper Optiks?

I didn't look into 3M. LLumar is what the shop near me uses and I like the look of it. They also warranty it for the life of the car, provided i own it. Cost me 170 for the whole car. What does 3M normally cost for the same job?

Thanks man! I agree, 30 is the sweet spot on these cars. Funny when I talked to the installer, he gets a lot of bimmers and said its usually 30% or blackout at 5%. Said he did several 7 series and an M6 all at 5%, but agreed that 30% on the bimmers looks the best. Different strokes for different cars. All of our Subies are 15%. I like 15 on the WRX and STi.

I am thinking 3M and Huper Optiks would be around 400ish, so that makes your price very good.

Llumar has also introduced an almost clear film recently designed specifically for windshield installation. It doesn't have a high heat rejection, but it cuts 99% of UV and it is supposed to reduce glare. It can be hard to find an installer who has it though, because windshield film is illegal in most jurisdictions, even if it's virtually clear.

Here's mine with 25VLT. Looks a little darker due to the black interior (dash/seats/headliner).
I got this done at the dealer with lifetime warranty.

The place I used has a CAD program that has every car programmed in so all the pieces are precut to exact specs meaning no razor blades trimming against the new car. That and the lifetime guarantee at any of over 9000 Llumar dealers made it a no-brainer for me.

I went with Huper Optik Ceramic, 30% all around (except for windshield) and I couldn't be happier. I was around the $400 mark, but it's worth the money in Arizona.

Went with 35% on mine and I'm very happy...previously I always went with a 20% tint but didn't want to completely hide the Red interior this time. I was just looking for "enough" to look like it was tinted without being blacked out...
