Need a recommendation for charger

Hi, new user, first post.

My battery on my 2010 528xi has 43k miles on it. Because I take lots of short trips and the car sits for several days at a time between drives, the battery gets run down. The dealer recommended that I put a charger on when the car is going to sit for more than a day. I wondered what chargers people had good luck with; don't want to fry my electrical system.
Thanks

I've been using a Battery Tender for a few years with good results. I have a 2005 545 with the original battery and plug it in every few weeks during the summer and continuously throughout the winter while it's in storage. You shouldn't need to charge the battery if the car is only sitting for a day or even a week.

Thanks, is that the brand name? I looked in the manual , and it recommends trickle charging when the car sits for several days. I have other vehicles that I use to get back and forth to work, and tend to use this car less, especially in the winter.

Battery Tender is the brand name and "Plus" is the model I use. Any intelligent charger will work but I chose the Battery Tender after doing some research and comparing them to the BMW charger which appears to be the same device with a different label. They charge the battery until it determines it has reached full charge then monitors without charging. If the charge level drops below optimum then the chager will apply a trickle charge to top it back up without worry of overcharging. The Battery Tender comes with leads that can be permanently connected to the positive post under the hood and any ground point near-by so maintaining the battery is as simple as opening the hood and plugging two connectors together.

Battery Tender Plus. Buy it on Amazon, it's less than $50.

I've been using a CTEK 7002 which I bought off of Amazon. My car is on it 24/7 unless I'm driving it. Has a setting for AGM too.

Another vote for the Battery Tender Plus from Amazon. Works great.
