LA Autoshow 7er

Nothing new to see, just was very captivated by the matte white F02 they had on display next to the Alpina. Thought I'd share some pictures with you, after seeing and feeling it in-person, I would DEFINITELY get a matte bimmer...

That color is so baller. I saw a very similar one on an S550 Designo. It's like a matte white pearl.

Just a heads up though - when I was at the bmw bodyshop I was talking to one of the reps about the matte paint, and he said that anytime there's a scratch it's a major issue. Entire panels need to be re-painted and sometimes even the surrounding panels because it's difficult to match.

That makes sense since they can't buff or wax it, yikes!

Dang...nice pics, I know I have heard of some of the other festers talking about wrapping the car in a matte finish, I'd wonder about the scratch resistance on a wrap? I think "lesliearc" has it? (I may be totally off on that username...), V/r, Tim

I've got a wrap on my car (although its about to be sold and shipped to Oklahoma). Scratches are pretty annoying, and very difficult to get off. A mixture of 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water typically fades it enough to be barely noticeable. I can't comment on a matte paint though. Can't imagine that would be much more forgiving. I have heard that matching a matte paint can be a pain, as the amount of matte to put in is sometimes difficult to gauge.

On the plus side, us Jet Black owners will finally have some members of the forum that will have higher-maintenance paint jobs than we do!

Forget the Frozen White car. That gray Alpina in the background is Gorgeous!!!

My local dealer has this beautiful matte white in the showroom, the matte paint looks so nice in person;
