e39 radio flat pin plug not working
I have a radio which has died I am having trouble findin a replacemet without paying a fortune. I can get a round pin radio easy as. Is there a patch cable to change between the 2 stlyes or do I need to pay a kings ransom for a flat pin radio.

Hi Driverdash,
Yes, for some inexplicable reason, the flat pin audio units are much more highly priced for 2nd hand units. I don't think there's a cable to allow a flat pin to work in a round pin style connector and vice versa. My vote is to put in a good quality double DIN head unit which will also have current technologies like iPod control, Bluetooth and a hands free mobile car kit etc. Here's mine for instance - ![]() ![]() Upgrade the cabin speakers to gain an immediate much improved audio performance level as well and later (if needs be), once funds allow, you can add small amplifiers and a subwoofer to improve quality and performance again!
